The monogram that appears has the letters JFPB which corresponds to José Ferreira Pinto Basto.
He was a great industrialist founder in 1824 of the Vista Alegre Royal Porcelain Factory,
Noble Knight of the Royal House, Knight Commendator of the Order of Christ,
Commendator of the Ordee of Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Vila Viçosa; son of Domingos José Ferreira Pinto Basto and of D. Maria do Amor Divino da Costa. In 1801 married D. Bárbara Inocêncio Felicidade Allen, and left descendents.
Born in Porto in 1774 and died in Lisbon in 1838.
